Ian Mellor-Crummey graduated from Rice in 2017 with a B.A. in Photography/Film and Earth Science. His photography has been exhibited in various galleries and museums in the United States, Mexico, and South Korea. In 2018, he was selected as an artist in residence at the historic Horlock House in Navasota, Texas. He now works as the Digital Media Commons' resident expert on photography and videography, teaching an array of short courses on photo and video editing software as well as practical shooting and lighting techniques. He supports both the DMC's Photo/Video and Audio Studios, and also teaches audio editing short courses in Garageband and Audacity for podcasting and recorded interviews. He was the recipient of the 2023 Shapiro Library Staff Innovation Award for his support and development of the DMC's studios and services.
