Digital Scholarship Services Assistance
- Research Assistance
- Provide assistance in identifying and using digital research tools
- Assist researchers in managing their data and in developing data management plans
- Scholarly Communications Assistance
- Facilitate deposits of articles in the Rice Research Repository in support of Rice’s open access policy (DSS)
- Support compliance with federal open access mandates, such as the NIH Public Access Policy (DSS)
- Offer consulting and support for developing an online scholarly identity, including through ORCID identifiers (DSS)
- Provide publishing support

- Provide access to digitization, digital curation and digital preservation facilities & expertise
- Create digital collections in the Rice Research Repository (for publications, data, video, audio and other materials) and JSTOR Forum (for images).
Kelley Center for Government Information, Data and Geospatial Services Assistance
Support faculty research and instruction, digital and campus-wide projects, new faculty orientation, and faculty community service
- Request to buy relevant books (government information, government data and statistics, maps, intellectual property, patent and trademarks). We build collections based on faculty research interests and instruction needs
- Request assistance with acquiring open government data sets and statistics for research and instruction
- Request assistance with finding non numerical government publications for research and instruction
- Make an appointment for one on one research and teaching support consultation
- Request or ask about our custom government information and data resource instruction
- Ask about collaborative research opportunities with Kelley Center using government information and data in your subject field, sponsored by Fondren Library research fund
- Request assistance with accessing and operating microform scanning/viewing machines
